With the new erion models, ALCAR is fundamentally redefining the steel wheel segment. At a time when the automotive industry is under intense regulatory pressure regarding CO₂ targets and WLTP cycles, ALCAR provides a technically sophisticated solution with the erion. Technical breakthrough: lightweight construction and aerodynamics

The erion steel wheel is based on advanced manufacturing technology that enables high structural integrity while maintaining a lightweight design. Compared to conventional solutions, this latest generation is weight-optimized, which improves vehicle dynamics and reduces energy consumption.

Special attention was paid to aerodynamics: The “full-face” design minimizes air turbulence on the outer surface of the wheel, which—particularly in electric vehicles (EVs) and light commercial vehicles (LCVs)—can contribute to increased range when combined with appropriate driving habits. Innovative features—such as increased strength achieved by relocating ventilation holes outward and an optimized brake clearance—make the erion a plug-and-drive solution that comes with ECE certification for state-of-the-art vehicle architectures, including sufficient space for TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) sensors.

ALCAR produces erion in Switzerland. The energy concept includes the Swiss electricity mix and a large on-site photovoltaic system. The material cycle has a recycling share of more than 50%; the raw materials used come from Europe.
